Mentoring
I’ve taken to mentoring a number of people. One is a great guy who is writing a book. He came out a couple weeks ago to my house so we could review everything. Today was the daughter of a friend who passed away. I’m helping her understand the Life and Health side of the insurance business starting with Medicare.
What’s weird for me is that I started inviting people to my house to do these things. During the week, at the office just wasn’t conducive to focusing on what we need to do, so it’s at my home on the weekend.
Now that I have my time, I’m able to do things like this. Whereas before, my time was reserved for my partner. I’m glad I’m able to do this mentoring.
I made brownies.
My ex-wife came over with the dog too (as this daughter, who’s in her 20’s, will most likely be the dog sitter for me in the future). My ex wanted to try out archery. There are classes, but they are all far away and since it’s the end of the season, they weren’t offered anymore. I just happen to have a set up where she could try it and I was happy to set it up for her. She was able to take as much time as she wanted to play around with it before I put the set up away for the season (yes, yet another thing put away).
Some of you may say it’s early (Mid October), but one year we had a major snow on Halloween. It really screwed up our gazebo, so I now put things away earlier in the season than I used to.

How'd the brownies turn out?
