Briar Patch Restaurant

It’s 4:20 am and I’m waiting for a pickup to take my daughter back to college. By the time you read this, we’ll most likely be at the Briar Patch Restaurant.
I believe it’s the 3rd iteration of the restaurant with the former ones having burned down. It started in 1948.
What I like most about it is that it is the local hang out for everyone. If you sit at the bar, people come in and are welcomed warmly. Even I am welcomed and chatted with.
The food has gotten steadily better over the years, as long as you choose something that they say is good.
It’s a most enjoyable experience. So, the next time you are in Amherst VA, check it out.
