My mom is 88 years old and still hitting the links
Written 9/2/2024.
Yesterday I was with my parents and Tim. He’s basically our third adopted son of our family. When we moved to Ohio, he lived across the street and quickly became part of the family.
He was in town visiting and is a big golfer. He lives in in Arizona so he can play year-round. He was also the person to help my mom learn golf when she was 62, so it was a special time because he took her golfing.
My mom has had her challenges, from replaced knees to back surgery where they said she’d never be able to play golf again to taking care of my dad and all that entails, so to be able to get out and hit the golf ball around was a special thing.
This is the first summer in a number of years that she’s been healthy enough to play golf. The hardest part for her is finding friends who are physically able. Even her 70-year-old friends have issues.
Tim and mom went golfing today. To see her smile was awesome.
I’m so glad she is still about to get around.
