How a Simple Coffee Date Led to Personal Breakthroughs
Written 5/3/2024.
I think my trip to Iceland finally caught up with me this morning. The weather was dreary. I texted the friend I was meeting up with that I’d be 10 minutes late because my brain said we were meeting at 7:15 am when I was actually meeting at 7:30 am.
That’s the mentor/mentee meeting we have. It was good and once done, I went home and napped for an hour.
That helped.
Now this coffee date.
We met at Peet’s coffee in Naperville. She had gotten a table outside and we chatted. What I liked was that she’s at the top of her game professionally and a strong-willed person with standards. She can also hold her own when it comes to mental acuity. I like that.
We ended up chatting for 2 hours and agreed to go hiking in a couple weeks (I’m out of town next week).
I think it will be more of a get to know one another friendship than anything else and that’s fine with me.
I wore some clothes from my stylist. She wore stitch fix.
We also had a lot in common, so that was nice.
Like I said, I’m happy my brain isn’t going crazy as I have enough going on in my life that I am working on.
I’m okay with dating now, I think I’m at a point where I can be my own person. I don’t plan on spending much time in the dating world, however, as it takes a lot of time and effort.
