Dancing is my happy place and I found a new favorite band

I leave at 3 am Friday to take my daughter to college, so I’m trying to manage my sleep schedule. Tonight, I was just about to take a nap when a friend called asking dating advice. A person he’s been messaging wants to meet in person and he was wondering if it was too soon.
My first thought was that he has a lot more experience dating that I do. Nobody gives me the time of day it seems or if I get a woman’s number, they say they’ve just been through a breakup and aren’t ready to date.
Getting through this, I replied nope. My personal preference is to meet sooner than later. Message a couple times and if the interchange is good, then have a coffee date or drink. That way it’s just an hour of time and the cost is less than $20. If it goes well, I can invite them to dinner or to move to the next venue (assuming I set the coffee date after 4 pm).
After helping him, for whatever reason, the band Lawrence the band came into my feed (WHATCHA WANT). The two lead singers have PIPES baby! I started listening to their other songs and before I knew it, I was at the dance club in an extremely good mood. Find the song, listen to the song and their others on their latest album. You’ll be happy that you did.

Finally, I think I had a little bit of a breakthrough in dancing. I’m getting more in sync with my partner and allowing myself to vibe to both them and the music. Everyone is different, everyone has a different style, and we are supposed to vibe with one another (sync up). Google west coast swing jack and jill competition and you’ll see videos of 2 people randomly partnered with a random song. You’ll see how they get in touch with each other’s energy so as to dance as one unit. This is what I’m going for and getting closer each time I dance.
One piece I want to develop is dancing more in closed position (close together, my left hand holding her right hand and my right hand on her shoulder blade). I dance mostly in open position (hands touching only). I’ll need to watch some cool moves and see if I can put them into my routine.
It was a lot of fun.
If you haven’t gone dancing in a while, you should. Most places have lessons before open dancing. You just have to go. You’ll thank me for it.
